A Florida woman named KeKe was dropping her kid off at daycare on Tuesday (2/20/24) and decided she would briefly leave her driver's side door open.
That's when three German shepherds jumped into her car, and refused to get out.
KeKe said they were "holding the car hostage," and after attempting to coax the pups out herself, she called the police.
When St. Petersburg police showed up, they also struggled to get the dogs out.
In a post on Facebook, they said, "some dogs will do anything for a car ride." With the help of the daycare staff, they eventually successfully coaxed the German shepherds out using fish sticks.
The cops took the dogs to the local animal urgent care, where they were cared for until the owner was located.
In the comments, a local person wrote, "This is not the first time these three have done this. They jumped in my son's car a couple of years ago. He brought them home and we tracked down the owner. I babysat them till he came and picked them up. They're overly friendly dogs."
KeKe's car was not damaged, but it sure was a mess.
