Spirit Halloween, the “World’s #1 Costume Store,” is sharing their most popular costumes of the year.
It’s no surprise that Barbie costumes are flying off the store shelves and one of the top costumes is the Barbie Box, which allows people to dress up as any Barbie they want. Corpse Bride, Chucky and Shorty the Clown from Killer Klowns From Outer Space are other top sellers for adult costumes.
Here's the list of most popular costumes this year, according to their marketing manager, Marisa Uzzolino:
- Adult Barbie Box Costume - No one will be surprised that Barbie costumes are incredibly popular this year, but Uzzolino says this Barbie box costume is one of their best sellers. The cool thing about it is that it lets people go as a Barbie of any style or career they want.
- Western Barbie Costume - The pink cowgirl outfit Margot Robbie wears in the “Barbie” movie is another popular choice and there’s even a Western Ken for the perfect couples costume.
- Corpse Bride Costume - The “Corpse Bride” movie came out close to 20 years ago, but the costume is still one of Spirit Halloween’s most popular choices.
- Chucky Costume Deluxe - For grown-ups who want a spookier look, dressing up as the killer doll could be the way to go. Thanks to the recent release of season 3 of “Chucky” on Peacock, this horror villain costume is as popular as ever.
- Shorty Costume - Killer Klowns from Outer Space - Another popular creepy costume is Shorty the Clown from the 80s sci-fi horror comedy.
- Kissy Missy Costume - Poppy Playtime - Uzzolino says two of the best sellers this year are the Poppy Playtime costumes, Kissy Missy and Huggy Wuggy, characters from the video game.
- Gryffindor Dress Costume - Harry Potter costumes seem to never go out of style and this outfit that will have you looking like you’re ready to roam the halls of Hogwarts is one of the most popular of 2023.
- Rave N' Dance Wednesday Addams Dress - Thanks to the popularity of the Netflix series “Wednesday,” a lot of people will be dressing up as the Addams family daughter. This costume is a replica of the dress Wednesday wears to the school dance, but you’ll have to perfect her moves to go with it.
Other top selling costumes at Spirit Halloween this year include an Eric Cartman inflatable, a Bloody Michael Myers, a Bling Ghost Face Dress Costume and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Dress.
