An airplane that was going from Bangkok to Taiwan fell into absolute chaos after a rat and an otter that had been smuggled on to plane decided to get loose during the flight.
As you would expect, the passengers and flight crew went into full panic mode. One enjoying the hilarity said, “They kept looking for the white rat and an employee caught the rat,” adding, “It bit them on the hand while they carried it back to the kitchen at the back of the plane.”
Upon landing in Taiwan, a police search uncovered a whole bunch more. Authorities discovered a box of 28 live turtles, a marmot, a snake, two otters, and other rodents. Apparently, it seems one passenger allegedly smuggled all the creatures through security in Thailand. That is some TIGHT security!
She now faces a penalty of up to $31,000, according to the Prevention and Control of Animal Infectious Diseases statute.
