Wednesday morning in Orange City, Florida, someone saw a large monkey sitting outside a Popeyes restaurant.
The sighting by the employee of the restaurant was just the first of many sightings that day, leading some to wonder if it was just one monkey or a full invasion. Police got several calls and were pointed to the Facebook post made by the first person to spot the monkey. That was Popeyes crew manager Kimberly Bialobos. Because of the post, authorities have identified it as a wild Rhesus Macaques monkey.
And yes, it’s not just one lone monkey; we have an awesome wild monkey population here in Florida and we've apparently had it since the 1930s when a commercial river boat captain released six of them to boost tourism.
Do what?!
