Some new stats from a survey about phone usage have been released. The survey was of 2,000 U.S. adults, divided evenly among Generation Z (18–26), millennials (27–42), Generation X (43–58) and baby boomers (59–77). It was conducted by OnePoll on behalf of tech care company Asurion.

The average person has owned their phone for 2.2 years, but 69% of respondents are using a phone that’s partially broken. And that number is higher - 79% - for Gen Z.

The most common phone issues people have right now include a cracked or scratched screen (24%), battery problems (21%) and overheating (15%).

Over half (57%) are planning a beach trip this summer and 60% say they usually use their phone to take photos or videos there. Well I hope so!

But here's what I don't believe. Surprisingly, a third of those polled claim they could go all summer without their phones.

The group with the LEAST amount of people who would be willing to give up their phone all summer? Those aged 59-77. Only 27% of boomers would be willing to spend the entire summer without their phone.
