A Kentucky postal worker is being praised for chasing down a suspected porch pirate and returning a package to its rightful owner. The residents on Audrey Harrod’s postal route in the Germantown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, already thought the world of her. But this week they have even more reasons to think highly of their mail carrier.
Last Friday, Harrod saw a woman take a package off of Kristina Inclan’s porch. Inclan’s neighbor, Amy Gaines was talking to Harrod right when the incident happened and says Harrod quickly went to get the package back. "She jumped in her van and took off," Gaines recalls. The mail carrier caught up with the suspected thief and demanded she turn over the package. While this is all going on, Inclan is inside her home taking a nap on her lunch break as a pediatric nurse. She woke up to a string of texts from her neighbors telling her what’s happening and was later surprised when Harrod returned her package to her.
When asked if she wanted to comment on the story, Harrod politely declined, saying it’s not about her. Her humble answer is no surprise to those who know her. "She doesn't have any puffed-up ideas about life or who she is,” says Germantown resident, Charlene Morris. “She's just a part of the flow of everything that happens in our community."
