Pizza man Tony Socco was sick and tired of seeing people get $150 parking tickets in front of his Detroit restaurant.
The issue? A handicapped parking zone with one sign at the front of it, but actually stretched back the length of four parking spaces, with no other markings or signs. Customers would park towards the back of it and come back to their cars finding a little surprise from the local police.
Socco complained to the city for years, with nothing getting done. Finally, Tony had enough of seeing people duped into a fine, so he spent $200 on blue paint and rollers, and painted the entire zone blue, to serve as a warning for future parkers.
Only after that did the city finally agree to look into the poor signage.
