An armed Chicago bank robber voluntarily gave the teller his official Illinois ID with his photo, name, and date of birth during a robbery where he demanded $10,000.
Edner Flores, 34, walked into a branch of PNC Bank in the Humboldt Park section of Chicago just before noon on Monday wearing a gray hooded jacket, black baseball cap under the hood, a surgical mask, and white work gloves. When it was Flores’ turn, he allegedly handed the teller a deposit ticket in which he wrote down the day’s date; the amount of $10,000 in the section marked ‘net deposit,’ and the words ‘no die packs’ and ‘armed’ in quotation marks. At that point, the teller realized that Flores was aiming to rob the bank and activated the silent alarm.
The teller then gave Flores a withdrawal ticket where he was asked to write down his account information. He also provided his I.D after filling out the withdrawal ticket.
Twelve minutes after Flores walked into the bank, police arrived and arrested him.
