Super Bowl Sunday is less than two weeks away, and while folks watch the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers battle it out for the trophy, many of them will be chowing down on chicken wings. And according to a new report, Americans will be eating a heck of a lot of them.

The National Chicken Council estimates that a whopping 1.42-billion chicken wings will be consumed Super Bowl weekend, which is up 2% from last year. Just how many wings is that? 1.42 billion is more than enough to easily circle the circumference of the Earth three times.

Wings are so popular on Super Bowl Sunday, that when you breakdown favorite Super Bowl foods by state, wings are number one in all 50 states.

When it comes to how they like their wings, Americans (53%) prefer traditional bone-in wings to boneless ones, though they may be more difficult to eat. And when it comes to sauces, barbecue is the top pick (52%), followed by ranch (46%) and buffalo/hot sauce (41%).
