Melody Ormond proudly walked the stage at UT Chattanooga’s graduation ceremony and it was even more special because of a classmate who was graduating with her - her 75-year-old grandma who earned her degree, too.
It was Melody who encouraged Pat Ormond to go back to school after she was retired and admittedly bored. She says she told her Nana that as matriarch of their family, she has a responsibility to stay inspiring to the other women in the family. And when Pat found out the college only charges folks 65 and older $70 a semester, she agreed to go.
Pat earned her degree in anthropology and Melody got hers in psychology.
