A metro Atlanta family is happily sharing the act of kindness given to their family this Halloween. Courtney and T.J. Thomas have three kids and one of them is being treated for leukemia. With the ongoing pandemic and cancer treatments, it wasn’t safe for anyone in their household to participate in trick-or-treating this year.
In order to let neighborhood kids know they couldn’t open their door, Courtney put a sign in the yard that read: “Sorry, no candy. Child with cancer. See you next year!” But instead of little ghosts and zombies passing their house, the Thomases were surprised to find the trick-or-treaters actually stopped and reached into their own stash to share some goodies for the kids inside.
Courtney shared the sweet story in a Facebook post, where it’s gone viral. “If anyone thought there was no hope in our kids and teens, you’re wrong,” she writes. “On the best candy night of the year kids freely and generously shared with strangers and showed so much love and kindness. So amazing.”
