Normally, you wouldn’t view getting an envelope filled with thousands of dollars delivered to your house as a bad thing. There’s a new scam going around, however, that might give you pause. A Port Richey, Florida resident received such an envelope that only had the last name of the home’s resident correct. Soon after the delivery, two unknown men came by to “claim it.” Then a similar package showed up the following day…with the same two men returning…and being “much more aggressive” – until the resident threatened to call the cops.
Here’s where it gets really weird. Investigators say those envelopes contained about $8,000 in cash – and the return address belongs to an elderly woman in Alabama. Cops think it’s some kind of mail scam...so if it happens to you, call the police pronto.
