The CFP National Championship game is played this coming Monday between the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide at a neutral site in Atlanta’s.
Yeah, riiiiight… the thing is, it’s about as neutral a site as the SEC championship game was last month when the same Georgia Bulldogs crushed the Auburn Tigers 28-7 at the same Mercedes-Benz Stadium which is barely a one-hour drive from the University of Georgia campus.
So you can imagine how many Bulldog fans are seeking tickets for the nearby national Championship game.
And the only thing better than getting to the stadium is getting to the ticket window given everything is online.
Problem is, just about every Bulldog fan worth their bones did just that yesterday after their team’s 54-48 Rose Bowl win leading to the StubHub, seeing so much traffic that the popular ticket website actually crashed after the game ended despite the fact that the cheapest available tickets started at about $2,000 apiece.
Wow, if that’s the traffic the internet is seeing this week, I’d hate to see the traffic Georgia is going to see between the Campus and Atlanta next Monday when the Bulldogs play in their first national title game since 1980.
