  1. FLORIDA - A new study by auto service chain Pep Boys ranked the metropolitan areas with the highest rates of road-related vehicle repairs, placing five Florida cities in the top ten nationwide.

The inaugural Worst Roads in America report analyzed service data for wheel alignments, suspension repairs, and tire damage directly linked to poor road conditions.

Orlando-Daytona Beach topped the list at number one, followed by Chicago at number two, and Panama City at number three.

Tampa-St. Petersburg ranked fifth, West Palm Beach sixth, and Tallahassee ninth.

According to Pep Boys, Florida drivers experience elevated repair needs due to heat-softened asphalt, frequent storms, heavy traffic, construction zones, and unstable soil conditions in certain regions.

    The complete top ten includes:
    Orlando, Florida
  2. Chicago, Illinois
  3. Panama City, Florida
  4. Lafayette, Indiana
  5. Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida
  6. West Palm Beach, Florida
  7. Nashville, Tennessee
  8. New Orleans, Louisiana
  9. Tallahassee, Florida
  10. Knoxville, Tennessee.

Miami-Fort Lauderdale also appeared in the top thirty at twenty-first place.

The report highlights that half of the ten most affected metro areas are located in Florida, based on actual repair frequency recorded across the company's service locations.=
