There's been a settlement between the state of Florida and a company formerly run by a South Florida congresswoman.

Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick was in charge of Trinity Healthcare during the pandemic when the company was overpaid by the state for COVID vaccine services.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management filed suit against her in December after she failed to pay back the nearly $6 million owed.

Both sides entered mediation in April and the suit has been withdrawn as a settlement has been reached, details of which have not been disclosed.

Cherfilus-McCormick remains under investigation by a House subcommittee for alleged campaign finance violations, but it's not known whether that is connected to the situation surrounding Trinity.
