Lunchbox had some difficult news to share.
While on The Prices is Right, Lunchbox had won several prizes, including a home gym, shoes, and a trip to Temecula, California. Lunchbox admitted he had made a major mistake with the trip. He explained that after repeatedly telling listeners and the show that the prize coordinators would contact him with available travel dates, he recently pulled out the paperwork from his prize folder and realized he had misunderstood the instructions. The documents stated that he was required to contact the show within 30 days to select his travel dates or risk forfeiting the prize.
After discovering the missed deadline, Lunchbox said he was angry with himself and acknowledged that he has a long history of overlooking important details. He admitted he often skims emails and paperwork instead of reading everything carefully. The rest of the show recalled that they had previously questioned whether Lunchbox was supposed to initiate contact about the trip, but he had remained convinced that the show would reach out first. Lunchbox said receiving emails about his other prizes, including the home gym, only reinforced his assumption that everything would happen automatically. So he immediately emailed the prize coordinators, apologized for missing the deadline, explained that he had misunderstood the instructions, and asked if there was still any chance he could redeem the trip. He has not yet received a response and fears the opportunity is likely gone because he believed the show's prize department probably follows the rules closely.
Bobby asked what lesson he had learned from the experience. Lunchbox said that in the future he would have his wife review important paperwork to make sure all the details were covered. The conversation reminded everyone of previous situations where Lunchbox missed important instructions, including showing up to the CMA Awards wearing a hoodie because he failed to read the section of an email specifying the event was black tie. Lunchbox also recalled making the same mistake on school assignments, where he would skip over instructions and complete an entire test incorrectly.
The conversation shifted to another Price Is Right prize when Bobby asked about the home gym. Lunchbox revealed it was still sitting on a pallet on his front porch, forcing his family to walk around it every time they entered the house. Although he planned to sell it for $999 after it was valued at approximately $1,400 on the show, he admitted it had not yet been listed. After some encouragement from the rest of the cast, Lunchbox promised it would be posted for sale on Facebook Marketplace by Friday, though he acknowledged his wife would likely handle the listing. As far as the remaining prizes, the shoes and computer, Lunchbox said the computer was expected to arrive but it has been saying that for weeks. When someone jokingly suggested using the delayed deliveries as leverage to help recover the trip, Lunchbox quickly rejected the idea, saying he did not want to "poke the bear" while waiting for a response from the prize coordinators.
