U.S. Military Veterans Motorcyle Club 6th annual “Veterans Rally Point”

On my latest podcast, I spoke with the President of the Georgia chapter of The U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club (USMVMC). This incredible organization is a nationwide, non-profit organization, established for Military Veterans who have honorably served in the defense of the United States of America.  The Cumming, GA Chapter of the USMVMC is hosting our 6th, annual, “Veterans Rally Point” this year on 2 September at the American Legion Post 127 in Sugar Hill, GA.  The Veterans Rally Point (VRP) is their annual fundraiser for homeless Veterans and Disabled Veterans throughout the State of GA and the Southeast.

The Georgia Chapter raises these funds to benefit Veterans suffering from disabilities sustained during military service, and to purchase supplies for the, often forgotten, homeless Veterans e.g., coats, blankets, socks, boots, undergarments and more.  They distribute these supplies (often directly through Homeless Vets Encampments) by working in concert with other Chapters within our organization or with other Veteran organizations such as the DAV, VFW, the American Legion and others.

September 2, 2023 the 6th Annual Veterans Rally Point will take place at American Legion Post 127 in Sugar Hill, Georgia. This free event begins with an opening ceremony at 12:00 PM with the Honor Guard, Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Immediately following that, the Guest Speaker for the year, Command Sergeant Major John Ballenger of the Georgia Army National Guard will speak.  Previous Guest Speakers include Commissioner, Patricia Ross (Commissioner of Veterans Service for the State of GA), Georgia State Command Sergeant Major, Jeff Logan the year prior, Former Georgia Secretary of State, Karen Handel before him, and others.

The VRP is also a chance for Veterans and civilians to come together for a day of fun and remembrance.  There are fun activities for the kids, Popcorn, cotton candy, funnel cakes, soft drinks and games are just some of the things we have at the VRP for families with children to enjoy.  We have a UH1H Helicopter, 3 HUMVEES and an actual WWII Cannon on site for families to explore, take photos with their children standing beside them to create memories and, hopefully, plant the seed of Patriotism in their child’s mind.

Plus, over 40 vendors this year.  90% of which are local Veteran owned companies or organizations that support Veterans by providing critical needs services such as mental health, housing assistance, employment opportunities and more.

100% of the funds raised go to helping Veterans in need.
