WATCH: Carnival Cruise "Foot-Fork" Fiasco

Social media is in a state of absolute collective disgust after a stomach-turning video captured aboard a Carnival Cruise Line ship went massively viral, racking up over 30 million views across TikTok and X.

The jaw-dropping footage, filmed by a fellow passenger aboard the Carnival Sunrise, shows a woman sitting in the ship's main dining area aggressively using a standard metal buffet fork to scratch the peeling, calloused bottom of her bare foot.

After multiple agonizing seconds of using the utensil as a makeshift scratching post, the passenger casually rests her foot back on the floor and continues handling her meal, seemingly oblivious to the standard rules of public hygiene.

The internet did not hold back, with thousands of users demanding everything from structural changes to buffet layouts to a lifetime cruise ban for the passenger.

  • "I am never eating at a cruise buffet ever again," wrote one traumatized TikTok user in a comment that gained a quarter-million likes.
  • "This is exactly why norovirus spreads like wildfire on these ships. Total lack of basic human decency," another user added.

As internet outrage boiled over, Carnival Cruise Line officials were forced to step in and address the viral hygiene breach. A corporate spokesperson confirmed that shipboard staff immediately intervened once the behavior was spotted.

In a surprisingly witty public statement, Carnival stated:

"We can confirm that forks are intended for food, not foot care. The guest was spoken to, and the utensil in question was immediately and permanently removed from service. We work incredibly hard to maintain the highest cleanliness standards across our entire 'feet fleet.'"

While Carnival’s social media team managed to inject some humor into the situation, the cruise line reiterated that guest health and safety remains their top priority. They assured future passengers that all dining room silverware undergoes high-temperature commercial sanitization between every single use.
