Alan Jackson cherished “a night full of songs, stories, and memories we’ll carry with us forever,” after playing his final concert over the weekend.
The country legend, 67, posted photos on Instagram on Monday evening (June 29) after thousands of fans attended his sold-out finale show at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. Jackson wrote, “thank you to the artists, friends, family, and every fan who made [‘Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale’] one we’ll always remember. Whether you were at [Nissan Stadium], on Broadway, at [Belmont University], or the [Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum], thank y’all for celebrating with us!”
Jackson’s “Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale” included George Strait, Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Riley Green, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Lee Ann Womack and others in the star-studded lineup, plus Jackson’s nephews and niece Adam Wright, Big City Brian Wright and Carlisle Wright. Though the concert began with a 30-minute delay due to weather conditions, Jackson and others delivered an unforgettable show, which included renditions of Jackson’s career-spanning hits (including “Gone Country,” “Summertime Blues,” “Chasin That Neon Rainbow,” “Remember When, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,” “Chattahoochee” and many more).
Jackson said from the stage that evening, “we’re going to have a good time is what we’re going to do!” Across Nashville, more than 80,000 fans experienced the legendary artist’s final performance, per a press release issued Tuesday morning (June 30). Jackson shared with the audience that evening, “this has just been incredible. I don’t even have words – it’s just been completely overwhelming.”
‘Alan Jackson: The Last Show’ will air as a televised special on NBC and the following day on Peacock in December. The date has not been announced as of publication time.
