Ted Turner Dead at 87

(Undated) -- American entrepreneur and media mogul Ted Turner is dead. That's according to a news release from Turner Enterprises. The founder of CNN and TBS passed away today at the age of 87.

He is known for transforming the cable industry by starting CNN in 1980. He also gave one-billion dollars to create the United Nations Foundation. Turner owned the Atlanta Braves as well when they won the World series in 1995, and the NBA's Atlanta Hawks.

Turner leaves behind five children. He was previously married to Jane Fonda.
