Bunnie Xo opened up about her recent facelift on a new episode of Dumb Blonde.
The podcast host and bestselling author of Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, 46, shared an update two weeks after the facelift, recapped the procedure, recalled waking up afterward, shared why she feels it’s important to talk about her experience, and more.
“First and foremost, I would like to tell everybody that Dr. Gold is an amazing doctor,” Bunnie Xo said on Dumb Blonde. “Obviously, this is two weeks out, post-facelift. I still can’t laugh. I’m still in a lot of pain. I still feel like my throat’s closing right now as we talk. But anything I say in this podcast does not reflect on his work. This is just me telling the truth about my experience with a facelift. And you guys know I’m never going to hold back on telling you guys the truth because I feel like I was undersold on the facelifts. All my girlfriends who have had f***ing facelifts…(said) ‘oh, by day two, you’re going to be up and running around. One week after, you’re going to be great.’ No. No, I’m not. I’m not great. And it was rough. It was [expletive] brutal thing I’ve ever been through in my life. And I don’t think people talk about plastic surgery enough. Like, yes, we glamorize it, and yes, I love plastic surgery. But I can’t wait to get the f*** off this ride. I want to be back to my normal self. Granted, it’s only been two weeks. I have zero patience. I just want to get back to my normal life.”
She went on to recap the day of the 7-hour surgery, why she had a “rough” wakeup and more.
“It has been a process,” Bunnie Xo said. “Let me tell you, you wake up every day and your face is different. but from what I see now, I like it. I don’t love it. …So far, I like it, and it’s going to take probably six more weeks before we can actually see final results.
“I’m not over here complaining, but I am going to always give you the real because this is exactly the reality of getting a facelift,” she said. “And I don’t feel like people show this side of it. Like Kris Jenner goes and gets a f***ing facelift, hides for six months, and then pops out on the red carpet looking snazzy and brand new. She didn’t show everything that’s really going on. …Those are serious surgeries. It’s a lot to get.”
Bunnie Xo said she wishes she’d had someone like her before her procedure because “everybody” said it’d be “glamorous,” but “nobody’s showing the nitty-gritty.”
Bunnie Xo shared the first before-and-after look at her face on March 16. She’d shared on a previous episode of Dumb Blonde, before undergoing the procedure, that “I preach against, you know, plastic surgery that I've had that I wish I hadn't gotten. A facelift is not one of them. If you have listened to previous podcasts, I have literally said for the past three years, I'm going to get a facelift when I'm 46.” Since then, she’s also shared glimpses of her “surgery day,” and explained “one of the main reasons” she opted to undergo the procedure. Bunnie Xo shared her first look at her full face of makeup post-facelift in a recent clip on Instagram, teasing more information on the podcast.
Throughout the Dumb Blonde episode, Bunnie Xo also spoke about “her viral moment” on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, continued to celebrate her memoir, and more. Find the full episode on iHeartRadio here (warning: language).
