Preliminary Injunction Hearing In "Alligator Alcatraz" Case

A federal judge is hearing a request for a preliminary injunction to stop all activity at Alligator Alcatraz until an environmental impact study can be performed there. Friends of the Everglades' Eve Samples says federal law requires the government to look before it leaps, ensuring its activities don't cause more harm than good. She says federal law not only requires an evaluation it also seeks alternatives and public input. The judge denied an earlier request to issue an order immediately.
