Lainey Wilson’s fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, reacted to the Whirlwind superstar’s Instagram post in a way that commenters said is “too cute.”

Wilson shared a few photos on Tuesday evening (May 27) from her performance at the 2025 American Music Awards the night prior. The event took place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wilson delivered the debut live performance of her new single, “Somewhere Over Laredo,” which appears on the upcoming deluxe edition of her latest studio record. Wilson wore a stunning white pantsuit with her signature bell bottom flare and cowboy hat, plus a long, dramatic cape that flowed in the breeze behind her during the performance.

Wilson wrote in her caption on Instagram that she’s “on cloud 9, Somewhere Over Laredo,” and thanked the American Music Awards for including her in the genre-spanning lineup. Hodges wrote in the comments: “You In white got me excited 🤍💍”

Hodges popped the question earlier this year at late legend George Jones’ estate in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. The couple started dating in 2021, and Wilson remained quiet about the relationship until she and Hodges mad their red carpet debut t the 58th ACM Awards in May 2023, at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Wilson told PEOPLE in an interview around that time that she’s “writing me some love songs now.” She was working on Whirlwind, her highly-anticipated record that followed Grammy-winning album, Bell Bottom Country.

Wilson might have manifested her gorgeous engagement ring with a joke. She explained earlier this year that shortly after she and Hodges started dating, “as a joke, I had texted him some big rings, being like, ‘this is what I like,’ (and) he was like, ‘oh Lord, I better start saving now,’” she said with a laugh. “We’ve been together for four years, and what he did is he just went in and designed it and kind of put some of those rings together that I sent him.” The “4x4xU” artist added that the engagement “could not have been more perfect.”
