Doral Proposing Nightlife Crackdown Following Mass Shooting

City of Doral Mayor Christi Fraga is proposing tougher restrictions on nightlife venues following last weekend's mass shooting that left two people dead, including the gunman, and seven people wounded at Martini Bar in CityPlace.

The city held a special council meeting on Wednesday that was streamed HERE.

Fraga suggested businesses that serve alcohol should end sales of booze at 1:30 a.m. and security should include portable metal detectors.

At present, seven bars and restaurants have extended-hour permits allowing them to close at 4:00 a.m.
