Caroline Bryan and her mother-in-law, LeClarie Bryan, dished about their hilarious relationship — and their favorite stories about award-winning country star Luke Bryan — on the latest episode of Got It From My Momma. The two Bryan women met with host Jennifer Vickery Smith to record the podcast episode live from the 50th CMA Fest in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Hundreds of attendees gathered in the audience to listen to Caroline and LeClaire tell their stories (and some of them had a chance to ask a few questions of their own).
Caroline and LeClaire arrived on the CMA Close-Up stage on Saturday afternoon (June 10). Now available on Tuesday (June 13), podcast listeners can rest assured that Caroline and LeClaire are “NOT FAKING” their witty banter, Got It From My Momma confirms.
“We get asked every day, ‘is this a put on?’ ‘Are y’all faking it?’ I’m like, ‘unfortunately, no,’” Caroline said, and LeClaire confirmed with a laugh it’s “the real truth.” Caroline added that “on the way here, she hugged me and said, ‘you look so pretty,’ and I said, ‘well, two hours ago, you said F off,’” — which LeClaire denied ‘’ “I swear!”
The conversation that ensued was nearly 45 minutes of hilarious banter, heartwarming stories and more. The dynamic mother-in-law, daughter-in-law duo also dished about the potential for a Bryan family reality show, their iconic prank wars, their favorite things about the “But I Got A Beer In My Hand” star (and what drives them crazy about him).
“Somewhere down the line, we probably would,” LeClaire said of the reality TV show idea (though both women said they didn’t have anything in the works). “Because we get along so good and we just love being together. Why not do something fun?”
LeClaire suggested that the show would focus on cooking, though social media users might often recognize her from Caroline’s epic prank videos. She promised, however, not to prank LeClaire in ways that would scare her anymore, she said.
“They’ve actually caused me to have some deep-rooted mental problems,” LeClaire said. Vickery Smith reflected on a previous Bryan family prank where a “fake stalker” tackled Bryan — and LeClaire sprang into action and tackled the stalker. “Don’t bother my baby! …I was gonna smush her.”
The Bryans delved into all those stories and more — and even danced to Bryan’s iconic “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” — in the latest episode of Got It From My Momma. The fast-growing podcast features conversations with the mothers of some of the biggest entertainers, including Thomas Rhett’s mom, Lauren Alaina’s mom, HARDY’s mom, Hillary Scott’s mom and others.
