No teacher wants to see her students go hungry, so when a little boy in Brook Goins’ elementary school class asked “when the lady that puts food” in his backback was coming, she wanted to help. In a Facebook post the Tennessee teacher explains that the student was referring to the Jacksboro Elementary School’s guidance counselor, but since Goins didn’t know when she would be back to stock him up with food to take home, she sprang into action to get him groceries.
Goins enlisted help from her fellow teachers and they pooled their money to buy food for the hungry child. He told her he likes “those little o’s” and explained, “We don’t have those at my house, but when I do have them they give me a warm belly and help me sleep.” The caring teachers bought him some Spaghetti-Os and other staples to fill him up.
