Man Gets Back $23,000 Accidentally Tossed In Recycling

A man from Ashland, Oregon accidentally tossed his life savings into the recycling bin, but he’s now been reunited with his money. He realized his mistake after the recycling bin had been emptied into a truck heading for the sorting facility in Humboldt County, California.

The facility’s general manager says most of the recyclables from the truck had been sorted by the time the man contacted them, but workers were asked to be on the lookout for the shoebox containing $23,000. Thankfully, the cash managed to stay inside the box during its 200-mile journey to the facility, where a worker spotted it and was able to recover all but $320. And now the man has his savings back.
