To the Nichols family, it’s not Waffle House, it’s Waffle Home. And when they were trying to decide on a theme for their Christmas card this year, they decided to go with one that really represented their family and their everyday life. So Zack and Malinda and their two daughters put on their Sunday best outfits and headed to the place they love to eat, Waffle House, to take their Christmas photos this year.
“I told my husband that I didn’t want to do another round of family Christmas card photos outside with the trees and nature around us,” Malinda says. “It’s not us. It’s not who we are. It’s not what we do.”
The Alabama family says some of their favorite moments together have happened at the restaurant. Malinda explains they’ve gone to Waffle House on date nights when they wanted to wear sweatpants, driven straight there after long trips abroad, hit it up after football games and on road trips. So it really is their Waffle Home and anyone who gets a Christmas card from the Nichols family will see how happy they are there.
