Willie Nelson has been part of “Outlaw Country” music for close to 50 years now and that term describes the Texas music scene he was in, but after several arrests for pot possession, that “outlaw” part takes on a new meaning. And now the iconic singer has announced that he’s going to be selling a new cannabidiol-infused coffee, “Willie’s Remedy.”
The whole-bean coffee will contain five-milligrams of CBD sourced from “organically grown, American hemp” in each eight-ounce cup of coffee. It hits the market in September and will be sold by GCH Inc., a cannabis company Nelson founded that’s famous for “Willie’s Reserve,” his branded strain of marijuana and THC edibles. But the CBD coffee won’t contain THC, the psychoactive compound in pot that gives you the high.
“It’s two of my favorites, together in the perfect combination,” Willie says in a press release. “Like coffee, cannabis is a plant that works for me.”
