Two brothers in Portland, Oregon, we part of a very scary situation back on January 22nd. Out of nowhere, a 33-year-old woman hijacked their father’s car while they were still inside of it. The young boys, just 9 and 11 years old, were alone in the car while their dad quickly went inside a store. The father was able to catch the suspect in the act and tried to stop her, but couldn't and she quickly drove away.

Fortunately, when the suspect momentarily stopped the vehicle at a stop light, the boys dramatically escaped. Then, the two flagged down another car who then called 911. Police responded promptly and soon the two young kids were reunited with their family. Meanwhile, a local deputy spotted the suspect driving the stolen car on a nearby stretch of interstate.

Law enforcement pursued the suspect and she refused to stop, leading them on Interstate 5 and across the state line into Washington. The suspect was eventually captured and taken to Clark County Jail, where she’s being held on charges including attempt to elude, reckless driving, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and being a fugitive from justice. The Portland Police Bureau indicated that after the extradition process, the suspect might face additional charges.
