Last Friday, William Marts heard a crash behind his home down in North Lauderdale. What was that loud sound? Oh, it was an SUV had crashed through his fence and into his pool!

That's when the 76-year-old sprung into action. Marts and an off-duty Broward County Sheriff’s deputy jumped into the pool to rescue the two people in the submerged vehicle: the driver and a child.

Both victims were reported to be in stable condition at the hospital. And the hero? Well, Mr. Marts was also taken to the hospital as a precaution and to check out for a spike in his blood pressure after the crazy ordeal.

Sadly, this is not a new thing. Are you ready for this? It marked the SEVENTH time a vehicle has crashed into Marts’ property. He has now asked for some sort of barricade along the busy intersection behind his house to prevent a tragedy.
