Healthcare Workers Treated To Free Haircuts

Mobile haircutting company Shortcut teamed up with Mount Sinai South Nassau in New York to give hospital staff a much-needed trim. Their “Haircuts for Heroes” project sent four stylists in for three days and they managed to give 160 hospital workers a free cut in that time.

Some of the employees have been working nonstop and were overdue for a trim, like one healthcare professional and new mom who hadn’t had her hair done in over six months. She says her first haircut since returning from maternity leave was “amazing.”

“We saw a simple, yet impactful opportunity to give back to these health care heroes,” explains Shortcut co-founder Will Newton. “It provided some normalcy after months of serving in a high-stress environment.”
