Unfortunately for “Friends” fans waiting for the big reunion special, it won’t be ready in time for HBO Max’s launch as planned. The streaming service has announced that the highly-anticipated special has been delayed.
On the bright side, all 236 episodes of the original classic sitcom will be available when HBO Max launches in May. Plus, “The Sun” reports that the cast secretly recorded a “mock rehearsal” of the 90-minute special remotely via Zoom that they’re hoping to release before the postponed reunion airs.
“As soon as filming was canceled, Courtney immediately set up a Zoom meeting for them and they all logged on for a session they called a mock rehearsal and chatted for almost two hours,” an insider tells the outlet. “They hope [it] can be aired as either a series of teasers or even a stand-alone special.”
