For years, Ralph Rotella has been collecting shoes and repairing them so he can donate them to those in need. It all started when he saw someone on the street without decent shoes and he decided he could do something to help.
The cobbler in Syracuse, New York collected 75 pair the first year, but this year, he got an impressive 18,102 pairs of shoes to give to The Rescue Mission.
“You don’t have to give just at Christmas time,” Rotella says. “You should give all year round. That’s what I do all year round.”
