A woman from Texas was digging for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas when she found a big one. Miranda Hollingshead says she was actually watching a YouTube video on how to find diamonds when she spotted the gem among the rocks.
Hollingshead says she had been searching for about an hour when she saw the stone. According to a press release from the park, she took it to the Diamond Discovery Center, where staff determined it’s a 3.72-carat yellow diamond - the largest found in the park since 2013.
Park Interpreter Waymon Cox reports it’s about the size of a pencil eraser and it could be worth tens of thousands of dollars. Hollingshead says if she doesn't sell the gem or keep it as a souvenir, she'll have it mounted as a ring.
