After 30 years together, a couple in the U.K. have decided to tie the knot. The 100-year-old bride-to-be, Norah Witkiss, says she’s “really excited to be marrying her partner, Malcolm Yates, 74. They’re set to say “I do” next month after three decades together.
So why get hitched now, after all this time? “Malcolm never mentioned it and I wasn’t going to ask him,” Norah says. The pair met at a dance in the 80s and have been together ever since and out of the blue, he popped the question a few weeks ago. Malcolm says he never really thought about getting married until now, adding “time’s getting on so we thought we might as well tie the knot.”
The couple doesn’t feel they missed out on anything before and are just looking forward to the October 16th nuptials. “I didn’t wait, life went too quick,” Norah explains. “I was always doing something.”
