The Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center is a very old building out in California. Over 100 years old. It was built in Oakland in 1914, but has been closed since 2005. However, there is new interest in the building as it's being renovated. And that led to a morbid surprise for construction workers on Wednesday.
While the crew was working in the building, the workers found a corpse behind drywall between two pillars.
Police say there weren’t any obvious signs of trauma and say the victim could have gotten trapped and died there years ago. UGH!
Investigators are going to use dental records and DNA to try to figure out who it was and say they might rehydrate the hands of the corpse to take fingerprints. YUCK!
