Police have arrested 34-year-old Shonteria Story of Winter Haven for allegedly pretending to be interested in buying a new car, but then never returning from the test drive!
Because of COVID restrictions, a salesperson wasn’t allowed to ride with her on her test drive, so she took off all by herself in a 2021 Chevy Equinox, and then decided to never come back.
How did police catch this master criminal? The vehicle had OnStar installed and activated, which tracked the vehicle to Bartow. When she was arrested, the Equinox was already filled with HER belongings and the dealer tag had been removed.
