When you’re told someone threw a brick through the glass door of your business and made off with a cash register, the first reaction isn’t usually compassion, but that was the response from Carl Wallace, owner of the Diablo’s Southwest Grill in Augusta, Georgia.
In a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, Wallace offered the thief a helping hand, no questions asked. “Please swing by for a job application,” Wallace said in the post, “there are better opportunities out there than this path you’ve chosen.”
The cash register that was taken was empty, but Wallace would have still been justified in being mad, right? Nope, not Wallace! He even added his personal cell phone number to the post, promising “no police, no questions.
When asked why he’s reacting this way to being broken into, he added “As the saying goes, ‘What Would Jesus Do?’”
