A man who went out on his boat and didn’t come back was rescued by a container ship off the coast. Stuart Bee was found clinging to his capsized 32-foot boat about 86-miles from Cape Canaveral on Sunday after being reported missing on Friday.
The Coast Guard reports that he was spotted and saved by the crew of the container ship Angeles and the Coast Guard came to get him there and get him back to shore. The agency had been actively searching for him since Friday.
“Saving lives at sea is our highest calling. This is a truly incredible outcome that demonstrates the bond among all mariners and our community,” said Captain Mark Vlaun, commanding officer of Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville.
