A Michigan woman picked up her mail on Tuesday and was transported back in time.
Sitting on top of Brittany Keech's stack of mail was a postcard that might've appeared a little early—"Halloween greetings," it read, next to an image of a witch and cat. But it was terrible late. The postmark was dated Oct. 29, 1920!
The postcard was in very neat handwriting with this text:
Dear Cousins,
Hope this will find you all well. We are quite well but mother has awful lame knees. It is awful cold here. I just finished my history lesson and am going to bed pretty soon. My father is shaving and my mother is telling me your address. I will have to close for a night. Hope grandma and grandpa are well. Don’t forget to write us - Roy get his pants fixed yet.
Flossie Burgess
But the mystery continues. A USPS spokesperson says it's unlikely that it was lost in the mail all this time. In most cases, old letters and postcards "are re-entered into our system," the rep says, per Newsweek. "As long as there is a deliverable address and postage, the card or letter gets delivered."
