Here’s one for ya... A “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reboot is happening, but this time it’ll be a dramatic take on the 90s sitcom.
The show has gotten a two-season order from the Peacock streaming service. Will Smith will serve as an executive producer.
It’ll be “set in modern-day America” and will be, “a serialized one-hour dramatic” version of the '90s sitcom ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ “that leans into the original premise: Will's complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. With a re-imagined vision, ‘Bel-Air’ will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions and biases that were impossible to fully explore in a 30-minute sitcom format, while still delivering swagger and nods to the original show.”
So far, no production dates have been announced.
