Florida Shoplifter Clogs Toilet To Distract Store Employees

Marion County Sherriff's Office

Below you will find a new tactic for shoplifting, although we advise against using it because it clearly did not work out for this Florida woman.

At a Family Dollar in Marion County, reports of a woman stealing over $400 in merchandise came in. How did she do it? Well, apparently by clogging the toilet in the restroom.

Deputies say she filled laundry baskets with tons of merchandise before going to use the restroom. She then went to the bathroom to do her business which ended up clogging the toilet. When employees went in to try to fix the toilet, the woman ran out the emergency exit with her cart of merchandise.

She then dumped the items in a nearby dumpster and flagged for an accomplice in an SUV to come get the goods. Eventually, an employee spotted her and called 911.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office is now looking for the woman and if you live in this part of Florida or have any information, you are asked to call 352-368-STOP.
