A reported heroin overdose victim escaped from medics while being put inside of an ambulance. The bizarre incident happened at the Walmart store located on 45th Street.
In the video, you see medics wheeling the suspected drug overdose victim out of the Walmart on a stretcher. However, before they could load him into the ambulance, he unbuckles himself, jumps off the stretcher and runs away, nearly knocking over the person filming.
Police say moments before, the man was found unconscious inside the store's bathroom suffering from a drug overdose. He came to after being administered 'narcan' which reverses the effects of Opioids like heroin and pain pills.
A CBS12 photojournalist was shooting video for an unrelated story when the bizarre incident unfolded in front of the camera.
