A Florida man gave a family a real wake-up call by falling asleep on their porch, cradling his trusty shotgun.
Gerius Adams was snoozing on a couch that had been placed on the front porch, covered up with a blanket taken from a shed on the property. That surprised the folks renting the home, but the real shock came when he stood up, still holding the weapon he'd been carrying around all night.
Adams, who told cops that he was "very drunk" and "very tired" when he found his way onto the property, claimed he wasn't entirely sure how he'd ended up there.
The 26-year-old said he knew he was not supposed to have the gun, since he's a convicted felon, but claimed he “needed protection.”
Adams faces up to five different felony charges.
