Semis Line Up Under Turnpike Overpass For Man Threatening To Jump

Quite the scene on the Florida Turnpike yesterday after one man gave authorities a scare. The man clearly in distress climbed over the fence on Kirkman Road near Orlando and threatened to jump to his death on the busy Florida Turnpike below.

Moments later, authorities arrived at the scene and tried to talk him down. However, the real sight to see comes when a group of semi truck drivers stopped under the overpass and waited there in case the man did decide to jump.

Florida Highway Patrol shut down the turnpike in both directions due to the incident and those truck drivers sat there for multiple hours while the police coached the man down. Just after 2:00 pm yesterday afternoon, the man came down on his own and is currently safe.

The Orlando Police department thanks all those truck drivers for their assistance.

As a reminder, if you or someone you know is in distress. Help is available 24 hours a day.
