How could someone abandon such sweet animals like this? Does this break your heart too?
On the plus side, these 15 Miniature Australian Shepherds now have better days ahead of them. The poor animals were found outside the Baker County Animal Control in a town nearby to Jacksonville. All the dogs were crammed inside two tiny crates and covered in fleas.
Someone left 15 mini Australian Shepherd dogs in the road outside Baker County Animal Control last night. County employee tells me the dogs were in two cages, were "on top of each other" and covered in urine and feces. @ActionNewsJax pic.twitter.com/QUBiWPgWAx— Kevin Clark (@KevinANjax) April 30, 2018
The little guys have since been transferred to Florida Urgent Rescue (FUR) for further care and safe keeping.
"The dogs had a really rough day after what looks like probably a rough life so far" '
-Jeanne Forney, Vice President of FUR
All 15 dogs are very shy and timid, but are starting to warm up to treats. More than likely, a lot of them were used for breeding and had never stepped on grass before. Although, this is a terrible situation, we are very glad the dogs have a better home and future on the way for them.
