This Twitter famous shark named Hilton has made his latest appearance very close to the Florida panhandle! Hilton is a 12.5-foot, 1,326-pound great white who was tagged by Ocearch around March of last year and has been tracked ever since. When Hilton's fin comes above water, a notification is sent to researchers sharing his location.
His latest spotting? In the Gulf of Mexico, right off the coast of the Florida panhandle!
Ocearch Cheif Science Advisor shared with fans of the shark this description of Hilton's journey:
“After spending nearly a year ranging up and down the Atlantic coast from Nova Scotia to Florida, Hilton, a mature male white shark, popped up in the Gulf of Mexico west of the Florida Keys 10 days ago, since then he’s made his way toward the Florida panhandle, a famous fishing ground for sport fishermen.”
Hilton is apparently doing a little fishing of his own there according to this last Tweet.
