Dolly Parton has a new award to add to her collection.

The iconic country artist is an Emmy Award winner. Parton shared on her social media channels: “Well how happy can I be to have won a Television Academy Emmy for the Netflix Family film Christmas on the Square! And I'm so thrilled for my dear friend Debbie Allen on winning for choreography. Thanks everybody for everything.”

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square released on Netflix in 2020. Christine Baranski, Treat Williams, Jenifer Lewis and others join Parton in the Netflix holiday musical. It includes 14 original songs, and was directed by choreographer and Emmy Award winner Debbie Allen. Netflix describes of the family film: “Seasonal cheer comes to a screeching halt when a cold-hearted woman tries to sell her hometown's land. Can music, magic and memories change her mind?”

In the film, Parton is a “rhinestone-bedazzled angel” who pays a visit to Baranski, a “small town ‘Scrooge’” and a property manager on the verge of evicting townspeople on Christmas Eve. That’s when Baranski’s character is whisked away “on a musical journey of redemption,” according to Netflix.
