Tenille Townes recruited several musical friends for a socially distanced cover of Bill Withers' profound, "Lean On Me." Released on Wednesday (April 1), the clip features fellow newcomers including Caylee Hammack, Abby Anderson, Kassi Ashton, Keelan Donovan, Alex Hall and Adam Hambrick.

Townes starts the performance off, strumming her guitar and singing the first verse. The other artists then take turns, singing specific parts of the song and coming together to harmonize for the chorus. The classic song's encouraging, positive message is just what many people need to hear during these hard times amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"These crazy times right now make me so grateful for my friends, for music, and the way we are still all connected," Townes says of the project. "It brought me so much joy hearing everybody's voices come together on this song, and it's my hope that it brings people a little joy and comfort out there when they hear it."

She adds, "We really all do need somebody to lean on, especially right now. It was really fund to sing this song together across the distance!"
